Jacob's last day of school was last Monday and they had a little pool party for the kiddos. He was so excited!
Here he is all set to go in his new Super Hero Squad swim suit.
My mom snuck over to watch for a while and took some pics. Looks like fun to me!
Jacob really enjoyed his first year of JrK. He made some friends and learned a lot, but we and his teacher don't feel he is quite ready for kindergarten yet. He is the youngest in his class and isn't ready academically or socially, so putting him in JrK again should give him time to grow more and be all set for kinder in another year. He's already talking about next year!
So, what have we been up to on our summer break so far?
** We've started doing a little 'school with mama' to keep Jacob brushed up on all his skills. We do number of the week, shape of the week, work on writing his name and cutting (yikes!) and we have a theme of the week (last week was fire trucks and this week is construction). We get books from the library and do crafts based on those themes. Nothing too spectacular, just a little something to help Jacob out in the areas he needs a little work.
** Playing with friends
** Getting summer hair cuts
This is the two minute cut
This is in the middle of the two HOUR cut. Jacob was just so, so mad about getting his hair cut. We made him sit at the picnic table until he was done. He would let us do a small portion, then throw a huge fit about it and run away.
Finally after two long, excruciating hours we got it done. Can't wait for next time!!
Argh mateys!
Enjoying their treasure - peanut butter, oat and chocolate chip balls
** Putting out 'fires' in the backyard. Apparently, our entire yard was in flames!
Yeah, I totally got blasted here.
** Went to a baby shower.
Sara is a friend of mine from boot camp and these are the boot camp friends who were at the shower.
Mandy, Ashley, Daniella, me, Sara and Adriana. Love these ladies!
I actually won a prize! I knew the most animal baby names and received one of these cute little duckies. Isaac was in LOVE with it and wanted to give it kisses!
** Hosted a Mom's Night Out for the ladies of boot camp, but sadly forgot to take pictures. What was I thinking? We all had so much fun getting pedicures and manicures, eating snacks and chatting the evening away.
