Grocery store tour

Last week Isaac and I went on a tour of Stater Bros. with the TMOMs group. It was a lot of fun and quiet informative! We got a lot peeks at what happens behind the scenes in a grocery store.

Isaac was very intent on watching the baker decorate the cake.



He HAD to bring along his 'Big Lightning' and Mater. He also had a stick. Goodness sakes! I had a bit of trouble convincing him to go so that was our compromise.

Spraying the veggies


In the meat dept. they got these cool hats. Isaac still has his and likes to wear it during mealtime when he eats meat. As soon as his meat is gone, though, the hat must be removed.
Doesn't he look a bit worried?

I think it is because of all the strange cuts of meat the butcher was showing them. Like cow tongue.

Or maybe it was this scary chainmail glove.


He looks mad, but he really did have a fun time. He got to snack on potato wedges and a cookie and they also gave him that banana. He would not let go of it and carried it around for quite a while. He did end up eating it for lunch even though it was pretty squishy.


In his backpack was a little info sheet about eating a variety of fruits and veggies. Isaac does okay with that, but we really struggle to get Jacob to eat fruit. What kid doesn't like fruit, right?? So, I thought it was worth a shot to use their little sheet as a chart to see if I could get the boys to try new things.
Worked like a charm! They get a sticker if they try one of the foods and then if they finish it all they get a bonus sticker.


If you ask Isaac what eating meat is good for he'll tell you it makes him strong. If you ask him what eating fruits and veggies is good for he'll tell you it makes him healthy! YAY!!
